Dhoom 3 is Aamir Khan all the way.
First, I would like to say, no doubt it is a great movie, but it could have been much better.
If the director had made good use of background score for chase scenes. The chase scenes are the highlight of Dhoom franchise. Which is lost here.
The movie starts with a robbery by Sahir (Aamir K). And Jai Dixit is called from India. He gives a statement on television saying the robber is a amateur and will easily be caught. Next scene Sahir calls Jai Dixit and tells him he wants to meet him. That was pretty cool. Sets the tone of the film.
It has a great story.
Aamir doesn't make a cool villain as John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan.
(Hrithik Roshan is undoubtedly the best Dhoom villain so far).
I wish he had loosened up a bit in the opening dance sequence.
But what he lacks, he makes it up with his act.
Abhishek Bachhan and Uday Chopra do good.
But their action scene could have been avoided. It was so childish.
Abhishek has same good role of a passionate cop who uses different tricks to catch the thief. And Uday does his funny act okay.
Wish Katrina had more to do. But whatever she does, she sizzles in it. I bet no other actress in bollywood can dance like she did in Kamli song.
Special mention of the kid who plays younger Sahir. He was really good. Does a decent sadma act of Kamal Hassan when trying to persuade Bank Manager.
- The earlier villains burgled for the thrill of it. But in this one, he robs for a purpose.
- The chase scenes are not as exciting as 1 and 2. The slo mo was boring.
- The bike transforming scenes were high quality. Certainly of hollywood standards. The technology shown was over the top, but Dhoom movies were never about logic.
- The director has taken care of minute details which I like.
Like Abhishek B is baffled to see Aamir khan diving in water from one side of bridge. And arising on the other side in seconds. Later it is explained how he did it.
Aamir Khan is surprised to see Abhishek B in the last chase. Because he had tied him on a ride track to die and expected him to be dead. - The story keeps the movie going.
There are 3 twists in the movie and all because of Aamir khan.
The second one had the audience applauding. I haven't such scene in bollywood movies for a long time
The second half of the film is better.
And ending of film is one of best ever. It lingers in your mind for a while.
